Here is a copy of the letter I will be sending home tomorrow Wed 4/23 with the Band students. Please keep an eye out for the envelope!
Hello Parents!
Hello Parents!
This letter is to inform you that our spring concert has
been officially scheduled. This year’s Spring
Concert will be held at Archbishop Wood High School in their
auditorium on May 21st
2014 at 7:00pm. Students are to report to the band room located behind
the stage (there will be someone to
direct them once they come into the auditorium) by no later than 6:30pm for
warm-up and tuning. This applies to all members of Wind Ensemble, String
Ensemble, and Guitar Ensemble. This year’s
concert will feature over 10 pieces performed by our Nativity Band Students.
The students have been working hard over the winter trimester building the
skills on their instrument needed for this concert, and our spring semester
will push them just a hard as we put the final touches on our songs and prepare
for the big show on May 21st.
As always this is a FREE concert and we encourage you to bring anyone
and everyone you know. These kids have worked incredibly hard this year and
this is sure to be an awesome spring show.
Included in this envelope is a statement for the spring
trimester, any student who is delinquent
with their tuition will unfortunately be unable to perform at the concert.
It is crucial for the success of the program that all students submit their
payments in a timely fashion, as we will be purchasing/paying for equipment and
music for the spring show. A reminder our program is set up on a trimester
billing cycle. Each trimester coincides approximately with Nativity’s report
cards (Roughly 10 weeks) our Spring Trimester runs from March 31-June 6. Please
have all tuition payments in by no later than May
9th 2014.
I have also attached a new practice log for the month of
April-June sorry it is a few week’s late many of our students have just added
dates to their old ones and kept them going! These logs have made a drastic
improvement in the progression of our ensembles and we will continue using them
as long as they continue to be a positive tool for our student’s development.
Please continue to encourage your students to practice daily as repetition will
help to build confidence in their concert pieces.
Lastly there will be an after school Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday May 20th from 3:30-5:30 @
Nativity. This two-hour rehearsal will help make up for some of our
snow days we had this year. Please be sure that your student is in attendance.
If there is any problem or conflict on this date please email me at dmyers@noolp.org. Mr. Dair and I cannot
thank you enough for all your support over this past year. Each year is a new
set of challenges and obstacles, and this year’ s Band members have met each
one of them in stride. We have seen
these students grow leaps and bounds in just a few quick months and assure you
that the students you will see May 21st may look like the same group
you saw in December, but your ears will hardly recognize them!!! Thank you
again and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Mr. Myers
